Overview
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Inspector to join our Ras Tanura Refinery Engineering Department (RTRED).
RTRED is a multi-disciplinary organization with interface to technical, and in some cases business, support requirements of Global Manufacturing Admin Area and Saudi Aramco Affiliates. Its function caters mainly to the technical needs of Global Manufacturing, operating facilities management, and drive the performances of operating facilities in executing corporate programs and initiatives towards operational excellence and value creation.
Your primary role is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems and equipment within Ras Tanura refinery. You will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and evaluating mechanical components, systems to ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco & industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Conduct special studies and analyses in specialized asset integrity fields, such as necessary mechanical calculations for piping, pressure vessel, shell and tube heat exchangers, air cooler fin fans, branch reinforcement, hydrotest pressure, rating and/or de-rating, fitness for service to evaluate flaws or damage, pipe stress analysis, flange calculations, perform nozzle calculations.
- Participate in field mechanical inspections, quarterly schedule inspections and assessments.
- Set KPIs and monitor deployment and performance of mechanical inspection programs at facilities.
- Review performance and KPIs of mechanical inspection programs at facilities.
- Issue recommendations to enhance mechanical inspection programs deployment and performance.
- Participate in major Turnaround & Inspection (T&I) and emergency plant shutdowns.
- Develop and review mechanical inspection procedures and best practices.
- Write recommendations and reports related to mechanical inspection activities.
- Develop and review mechanical inspection strategies.
- Review and propose non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and inspection procedures.
- Participate in Risk Based Inspection studies.
- Participate in HAZOP Studies review.
Minimum Requirements
- As the successful candidate you must have a Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
- You will have a minimum of 15 years in the refinery and/or Natural Gas Liquids industry, specifically in mechanical inspection, with at least 10 years field experience working on plants major turnaround, field troubleshooting and inspection.
- You must have certification in two of the following API accreditations: API-510, API-570, API-653.
- You must be a Certified Welding Inspector (CSWIP 3.1 or CWI/AWS)
- NACE Certified Coating Inspector Level II is a must.
- Qualified NDT Examiner (Visual/Penetrant/Ultrasonic/Magnetic Particle Testing) is also required.
- You must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of best engineering practices, solid industry codes and standards background.
