Overview

We are seeking a Research & Development (R&D) Strategic Analyst to join our Technical Support Division within our Research & Development Centre (R&DC).

 

R&DC conducts strategic research, development and demonstration programs in support of Aramco’s drive for innovation.  We are currently pursuing several technology development opportunities in strategic and downstream research.

 

Your primary role is to conduct in-depth analysis of our R&D portfolio, manage strategic planning, and oversee budgeting processes for our global research centers.  You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize performance and resource allocation, and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.  Your strategic insight will drive informed decision making, ensuring value realization from technology and innovation investments.  You will also play a pivotal role in overseeing financial planning and accounting processes related to R&D projects.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Conduct strategic analysis of R&D research initiatives, focusing on alignment with corporate technology governance and strategy.
  • Lead technology strategy development and implementation across global research centers.
  • Ensure value realization from technology and innovation investments through robust analysis and reporting.
  • Develop and manage technology investment plans, long-term R&D roadmaps, and portfolio management strategies.
  • Integrate sustainability, climate change, and energy transition goals into R&D projects.
  • Implement innovation scorecards, metrics, and process management to track and enhance R&D performance.
  • Oversee R&D stage-gate execution, including technical and commercial due diligence.
  • Drive organizational change leadership, ensuring alignment with operating model transformation and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with global research centers on planning, budgetary processes, and reporting.
  • Conduct thorough market research using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to identify industry and technology trends.
  • Utilize statistical analysis and data visualization techniques to interpret research findings, identify patterns, and present actionable recommendations to inform deployment strategies.

Minimum Requirements

  • You must hold a Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
  • You should have a minimum of 5 years’ proven experience as a Portfolio Analyst or similar role in a technology company to drive value realization from technology and innovation investments.
  • Experience in performance management, including the use of dashboards and metrics is essential.
  • You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data and insights in a clear and compelling manner. Strong understanding of R&D processes and innovation strategies.
  • You should also be able to demonstrate proficiency in using statistical analysis tools and data visualization software.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail, with a focus on translating data into actionable strategies is ideal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
