Overview

We are seeking a Renewable Business Development and Transaction specialist to join our Renewable Department’s Investment Division which is part of Saudi Aramco’s recently established New Energies function.

The Investment Division is responsible for providing renewable market insight, creating and updating the corporate renewable strategy, business development and transaction management for In Kingdom and out of Kingdom renewables, as well as affiliate management of renewable companies.

The primary role of the candidate is to support in the planning and development of new renewables businesses and investments. The role includes leading and  supporting  mergers & acquisitions (M&A), JV development and 3rd Party transactions for renewable projects for Saudi Aramco. This will include identifying opportunities for  Saudi Aramco facilities and affiliates, expansion of renewable business, market penetration strategies and execution, achieve revenue targets as set by management, upfront business case development, high level feasibility studies, work on strategic alignment and coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders at Saudi Aramco.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:

  • Initiate, develop & expand the Company’s renewable business
  • Achieve revenue targets  set by the Management
  • Support strategy development and long-term plans to deploy renewable applications
  • Manage all aspects of transaction execution including evaluating transaction proposals and  managing overall project such as selecting, onboarding and working with a full team of advisors.
  • As a single person contributor, be actively involved in the valuation, due diligence, negotiations and structuring of transactions from origination to sign and closing.
  • Identify project risks, analysis and recommendation of mitigation measures
  • Lead the development of Power Purchase Agreements with developers of renewable projects
  • Support structuring of binding agreements such as Shareholders Agreement, Project Development Agreement, O&M Agreement and Equity Subscription & Retention Agreement
  • Assist with innovative financial structuring solutions to enhance returns
  • Preparing periodical progress reports for management
  • Ensure knowledge transfer through mentorship of young talent

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you will have:

  • Bachelors degree in Business from a recognized and approved program.] An advanced degree or certification such as an MBA or CFA is preferred.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in business development and transaction, including at least 5 years in the Renewable space.
  • Strong background in renewable project development, deal structuring, stakeholder management, financial modeling, bankability and valuations. You should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of operational and development business model for Independent power producers and developers within the renewable sector. Candidates with investment  banking or consulting background including Big4 to supplement experienced gained from an energy company will be preferred. You must have excellent command of spoken and written English.  Preference will be given to candidates that have a demonstrable track record of delivering board level presentations. You must also have a track record of project management experience and be proficient in MS Office.
