ROLE OVERVIEW

The Port OT Networks Architecture Manager is responsible for the design, deployment, and secure operation of OT Network Infrastructure critical to the automation ecosystem of the port of Neom. The role ensures seamless connectivity, system reliability across all OT domains, enabling the safe and efficient delivery of projects, functioning of cranes, yard equipment, control systems, and other operational assets. The position acts in delivering a scalable, resilient, and standards-aligned OT environment for one of the region’s most advanced digital ports.

 

REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY

  • Lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of OT networks across automated port infrastructure (e.g., cranes, ERTGs, IGVs, sensors, control systems).
  • Ensure secure, high-availability connectivity for all automation systems, with proper OT/IT segmentation.
  • Oversee end-to-end deployment of OT field networks, access layers, and core connectivity to control rooms and data centers.
  • Drive implementation of OT-specific cyber hardening measures in alignment with frameworks such as HCIS and NCA OTCC.
  • Support commissioning and operational readiness of equipment with structured OT network services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of OT network topologies, patching plans, and Networks interfaces.
  • Provide operational support for OT Networks fault isolation, RCA, and performance improvements.
  • Ability to lead and influence others to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Uphold ethical standards in all stakeholder interactions and communications.

 

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES

The Port OT Networks Architecture Manager responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and implement engagement plans to align OT network architecture with business, operations, and regulatory needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Operations, HSE, Engineering, Cybersecurity) and external partners (vendors, regulators, and contractors).
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for OT network architecture, addressing stakeholder concerns and providing regular updates.
  • Ensure accurate and timely dissemination of OT-related technical and operational information.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, ICT, and compliance teams to ensure OT network design aligns with organizational objectives and HCIS/NCA-OTCC standards.
  • Identify and proactively resolve conflicts around OT network design, integration, and dependencies.
  • Support alignment between OT network initiatives and overall port digital and automation strategy.

 

Change Management

  • Stay updated on best practices in OT network security, design, and operations, applying them to ensure resilient architecture.
  • Seek and incorporate feedback from operations and technical teams to continuously improve network design and support models.
  • Ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of OT network changes and upgrades.
  • Identify risks associated with OT network modifications (e.g., downtime, integration challenges, compliance gaps) and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Define structured change strategies, including resources, timelines, and communication protocols, to manage OT network transformations.

 

Project Management

  • Provide senior management with regular updates on OT network architecture status, risks, dependencies, and opportunities.
  • Leverage feedback and performance data to refine OT network design and long-term architecture strategy.
  • Coordinate with multiple project teams (ICT Active, ICT Passive, ELV, SCADA, Crane Systems, and Gate Management Systems) to ensure OT network requirements are fully integrated into project planning and commissioning.
  • Track and monitor OT network-related activities and their contribution to successful project delivery, ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

 

       Leadership

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, reports, and architecture documents tailored to both senior management and operational stakeholders.
  • Ensure all OT network design, deployment, and engagement activities comply with industry regulations, HCIS/NCA-OTCC standards, and organizational policies.
  • Leverage network performance data, analytics, and monitoring insights to drive architectural decisions and continuous improvement.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in OT/industrial network design and automation infrastructure, preferably in ports or logistics.
  • Strong understanding of Ethernet/IP, Modbus, PROFINET, VLANs, VRFs, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Proven capability in managing L2/L3 networks using platforms such as Cisco, Huawei.
  • Familiarity with SCADA/HMI architecture and integration into control networks.
  • Strong documentation, vendor management, and project coordination capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Relevant Professional Memberships/Accreditation.
