ROLE OVERVIEW

The Planning Manager is responsible for engaging and managing relationships with key stakeholders across various parts of The LINE Proponent, including suppliers and sectors. The role requires a strategic approach to communication and engagement, ensuring that stakeholders are informed of schedule status and that all moving parts are seamlessly integrated.  The Planning Manager will work closely with senior leadership and other departments to align stakeholder expectations with organizational schedule goals.  The Planning Manager will be reporting to the appropriate Senior Planning Manager or Planning Director.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES

The Planning Manager responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 

Planning Management

  • Provide leadership for planning and scheduling, progress measurement, and reporting for the design phase of Neighbourhood 46.
  • Provide guidance, direction to the wider team and liaise closely with adjacent schemes of work.  Attend regular meetings/workshops and provide statistical reports.
  • Oversea the design planning activities of third parties.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of planning processes, procedures, systems and tools and ensure compliance.
  • Provide guidance and direction for the resolution of planning and issues as they arise.
  • Provide regular summary reports to the Development team and Project Managers, to provide awareness of key project parameters, and assist with exceptions.
  • Setting-up Primavera Project Management System (P6) for program management across the planning team with all stakeholders
  • Support the master programme for the project
  • Prepare weekly flash reports and monthly period-end updates.
  • Assist in establishing / delivering formal reporting arrangements on project progress for the Developer.
  • Review contract documents (as required), ensuring that planning and programming is synchronized with the contract requirements.
  • Arrange/attend planning workshops/meetings to discuss and assist suppliers/consultants to close their planning / project control issues.
  • Challenge any claims and EOT requests.
  • Make recommendations for possible acceleration, to mitigate slippages.
  • Reviewing supplier programmes and analyse them in line with the contractual requirements

 

Change Management

  • Identify potential risks associated with the schedule and develop strategies to mitigate them

 

Project Management

  • Provide regular reports to senior management on schedule status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Use feedback and data to refine and improve schedule management strategies.
  • Coordinate stakeholder involvement in project planning, ensuring their feedback is integrated into planning and decision-making processes.
  • Track and monitor activities and their impact on project outcomes.

 

       Leadership

  • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and other communication materials tailored to planning team needs.
  • Ensure that all planning activities comply with the relevant internal guidelines.
  • Utilize data analytics to drive strategies and decisions.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years post-graduate experience
  • Extensive experience with design engineering consultancies
  • Extensive experience in Planning, Project Controls and Project Management
  • Good knowledge and experience of the project lifecycle for mixed-use projects in respect to planning, cost (optional) and schedule control
  • Good knowledge of design processes and construction methodologies
  • Experienced Project Controls professional with good technical skills (i.e. critical path, earned value, etc)
  • Experience in the application of Primavera P6, and knowledge of Primavera contract manager on mixed use development projects

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or relevant
