ROLE OVERVIEW

The Marketing & Events Manager is responsible for developing the strategy, planning and execution of marketing strategies and events.

This role requires strong strategy, communication, organizational, and project management skills, and experience to drive the development and promotion of our project, as well as planning and delivering successful events that engage and attract target audiences.

  • Knowledge of event planning software (e.g., Cvent, Eventbrite) is a plus.

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES

The Marketing & Events Manager’s  responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Marketing Strategy & Campaigns

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies: Create and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns to drive brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation.
  • Content creation and management: Oversee content development for marketing materials, including email campaigns, social media posts, blog articles, press releases, and website content.
  • Digital marketing: Manage social media accounts, digital ads (Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, etc.), SEO/SEM, email marketing, and online promotions.
  • Market research and analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive insights. Use analytics to measure campaign performance and recommend improvements.
  • Brand management: Ensure consistency in brand messaging, tone, and visual identity across all marketing platforms and event materials.
  • Collaboration with sales teams: Work closely with the sales team to align marketing strategies with sales goals and generate high-quality leads.
     

Event Planning & Management:

  • Event strategy & coordination: Lead the planning and execution of in-person, virtual, or hybrid events such as large-scale concerts and functions, international trade shows, and launches.
  • Venue selection and logistics: Manage vendors selection, contract negotiations, and on-site event logistics (e.g., catering, AV equipment, signage, and transportation).
  • Budget management: Develop and track event budgets to ensure cost-effective planning and execution. Handle sponsorships, vendor management, and cost control.
  • Team collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., design, PR, sales) to ensure event objectives are met, and all stakeholders are aligned.
  • Guest management: Oversee guest invitations, registration processes, and ensure a seamless attendee experience at events.
  • Post-event analysis: Gather attendee feedback, analyze event ROI, and provide recommendations for future events.
     

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:

Internal communication: Regularly update senior management and other teams on the status of marketing and event initiatives, timelines, and results.

  • External partnerships: Develop relationships with key external stakeholders, including sponsors, partners, media, and vendors, to enhance event outcomes and marketing effectiveness.
  • Public relations: Assist with media outreach, press releases, and other public relations efforts related to both marketing campaigns and events.
     

Data & Reporting

  • Metrics and analytics: Track and report key performance metrics for both marketing campaigns and events. Use data to refine strategies and improve future efforts.
  • Reporting to stakeholders: Provide regular updates and performance reports on marketing campaigns and events to key stakeholders, including senior management.

Project Management

  • Provide regular reports to senior management on stakeholder engagement status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Use feedback and data to refine and improve stakeholder management strategies.
  • Coordinate stakeholder involvement in projects, ensuring their feedback is integrated into planning and decision-making processes.
  • Track and monitor stakeholder engagement activities and their impact on project outcomes.
     

       Leadership

  • Manage relationships with events management companies and supervise events planning, fostering a collaborative
    and results-driven environment.
  • Prepare and deliver relevant presentations, reports, and other communication materials.
  • Ensure that all stakeholder engagement activities comply with the relevant regulations and ethical standards.
  • Utilize data analytics to drive strategies and decisions.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing and events management, and community engagement.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering successful marketing strategies and events and proactively coordinating
    and managing events management companies.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and diplomacy.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or any relvant field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Certification in event planning (e.g., CMP, CEM) or digital marketing (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot) preferred.
  • Relevant Professional Memberships/Accreditation.
