Role Overview
The Manager of the translation unit is responsible for managing and facilitating boards and committee materials including packages, resolutions by circulation, agenda and minutes. The position is also responsible for providing support to board & committee secretaries to access relevant information and facilitating any ad-hoc requests, as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the execution of initiatives and plans in the achievement of defined goals for concerned team members
- Support in the Supervision of the execution of day-to-day activities and operations for concerned team members and support them as appropriate
- Reinforce the implementation of all policies and procedures within team members, and recommend potential improvements where appropriate
- Organize the allocation of team members with the department head to ensure optimal delivery of work
- Support the secretaries to handle, manage and record all materials
- Supervise and coordinate translation projects, ensuring on-time, high quality deliveries of board materials.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of the translation process.
- Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with team members, ensuring that their requirements are accurately communicated and met.
- Read and evaluate written text for grammatical and typographical error
- Liaise with the team members to determine the composition of specific texts in a document
- Compare typeset proofs against original copy to identify errors or omission
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Adhere to and enforce company’s translation standards, processes, and procedures.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Conduct first-review and validate board meeting minutes and actions, ensuring they are up to the required standards
- Support in maintaining the provision of the board software applications, in close coordination with enterprise intelligence team
- Maintain compliance with the board charter and governance policies surrounding board/committee materials.
- Provide general support to the board members to access relevant information and facilitating any ad-hoc requests, as appropriate.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 7 years’ professional experience, with at least 5 years being spent in a similar position
- Proficiency in English and Arabic Language is required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, business administration, Corporate Law, or equivalent, with relevant related experience.
- Professional Certifications is preferred.
