ROLE OVERVIEW

The Economics, Data and Statistics Division is tasked to carry out economic analyses, develop forecasts of the economy and build a brand-new Statistics Office for NEOM in a greenfield environment in order to produce robust data and statistics about people, the economy and different sectors of interest. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Data Communication and Web Content Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that we communicate key data insights, content, and updates to our stakeholders in the most accurate and effective manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web content management, a good understanding of communicating data and statistics, as well as economic content to support our organizational goals. He/she will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, organize, and maintain content on the department’s website, while also ensuring that data communication efforts are aligned with overall business strategies.

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES

Data Communication and Web Content Manager responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Data and Statistics Releases

  • Ensure the flow of regular statistics publications within the Economics, Data & Statistics Department
  • Ensure the timely publication of pre-announced statistical releases
  • Maintain and update the forward-looking Statistical Release calendar for future statistics publications
  • Ensure that the accompanying explanatory notes to statistical releases are reflective of the main messages that new data releases contain. Scientific accuracy and objective of data presentation is crucial.

Web Content Management

  • Oversee the content strategy, development, and maintenance of the company website and digital platforms, ensuring content is current, relevant, and aligned with company goals.
  • Write, edit, and proofread web content, including landing pages, blog posts, case studies, product descriptions, and thought leadership articles.
  • Collaborate with design and technical teams to optimize the website for user experience (UX) and search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Manage and maintain the content management system (CMS), ensuring content is organized and accessible for both internal stakeholders and external visitors.
  • Ensure all web content meets accessibility and legal compliance standards.

Editing of Publications

  • Lead the editorial process for all economic and statistical publications, ensuring content is accurate, clear, and coherent.
  • Review and edit drafts of economic reports, statistical analyses, research papers, policy briefs, and other publications for clarity, consistency, and quality.
  • Work closely with economists, statisticians, and other subject-matter experts to ensure the technical accuracy of content while maintaining readability for a broad audience.
  • Manage the production schedule for regular economic and statistical publications, ensuring deadlines are met and publication timelines are adhered to.
  • Oversee the proofreading and fact-checking processes, ensuring that all publications are free of errors and meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Manage and track the editorial lifecycle from initial drafts to final publication, including reviewing revisions and ensuring the timely approval of content.

Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with marketing, IT, design, and other departments to align messaging and ensure that content is up-to-date and accurate across all digital touchpoints.
  • Provide regular reports on web content performance, user engagement, and data communication outcomes.
  • Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CMS analytics, etc.) to assess the effectiveness of web content and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed on trends in data communication, web content management, and digital marketing, implementing best practices where appropriate.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in public relations, communications, or media relations, with a strong focus on data-driven content or public sector communications.
  • Experience in communicating complex technical or statistical information to a non-expert audience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in editing, publishing, or writing, with a focus on economic or statistical content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language (native speaker preferred), with the ability to simplify complex concepts for a broad audience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools, social media platforms, and content management systems (CMS).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience in media relations and understanding of how to build relationships with journalists and media outlets.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to understand and interpret statistical data and trends.
  • Familiarity with official statistics and their role in policymaking and societal decision-making.
  • Knowledge of data visualization techniques and tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive, creative, and solutions-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Statistics, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Sciences, or a related field.
