ROLE OVERVIEW
In the ENOWA Energy BU we are ‘Energizing NEOM’s 100% renewable future’. Commercial Hub team contributes to achieving this vision by managing ENOWA’s energy & commodity commercial relationships and related risk-return trade-offs. The purpose of the Commercial Hub – Commodities Senior Manager role is to lead the team responsible for ensuring market access, procurement, logistics and hedging of fuel (including LNG, diesel, H2) and other commodities during the transition phase to a 100% renewable system and beyond.

REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY

Support implementation of the Commercial Hub – Commodities team within the Energy BU to enable the procurement, logistics and hedging of fuels and other commodities for all of NEOM’s energy needs. Develop related people, organization, processes, systems & tools in cooperation with other ENOWA departments and external consultants.

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES

Lead the Commodities team, organize department activities and be accountable for all roles & responsibilities related to fuel and commodity activities of ENOWA, including but not limited to:

  • Manage access to fuel and commodities, as well as freight markets (e.g., NG, H2, diesel)
  • Lead on all aspects of Fuel Logistics inc. the commercial and technical elements of the new Fuel Hub facility
  • Develop overarching fuel strategy and align with internal stakeholders
  • Consolidate NEOM’s demand for fuels and other commodities and assure supply of fuel and commodities in required quantity, time and location
  • Manage commercial relationships with fuel logistics and commodity suppliers within KSA and globally, including to relevant public sector stakeholders (e.g., Ministry of Energy)
  • Execute fuel logistics and associated activities for transportation and storage of all fuels
  • Coordinate post-deal activities related to fuel and commodity procurement
  • Coordinate and optimize logistics for procured fuel (in time, on site delivery)
  • Initially, this role will focus on conventional fuels including diesel, natural gas. In the future, the role will gradually shift towards management and hedging of clean fuels such as hydrogen, e-fuels or biomethane.

To coordinate and to be accountable for all department activities, including but not limited to:

  • Leading, evaluating and developing existing employees
  • Hiring, training, and onboarding new employees
  • Defining department strategy, communicating it to employees and translating it into actions for team members
  • Putting in place procedures, tools & systems to reach department objectives
  • Owning department budget
  • Reporting to Commercial Hub management

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in energy, from which at least 3 years in managerial positions
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commodity procurement, logistics, and hedging
  • Deep knowledge of fuel and commodity markets, both within KSA and globally
  • Proven ability in executing fuel and commodity procurement and associated hedging activities
  • Strong skills in coordinating and optimizing logistics for fuel delivery
  • Experience in managing relationships with suppliers and relevant public sector stakeholders
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Desire to accept the challenge of developing a fully renewable system

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Electrical Engineering, or other related degree
