PwC’s Business Restructuring Services (BRS) team is currently the largest restructuring practice in the Middle East, with over 50 employees operating across various offices in the region. Our team helps organizations facing financial distress or insolvency with crisis recovery, cash flow management, financial and operational restructuring, liquidation and insolvency proceedings. Whatever the solution, we help them manage road blocks until the job is done.
We develop and implement realistic and pragmatic plans by applying restructuring and stakeholder management skills, functional knowledge, and proprietary assets and tools to support executives in making difficult decisions and driving through change in a short timeframe. We help clients, among other things, to reduce balance sheet stress, generate cash and reduce costs or refinance to find the best source of capital to support their business objectives. Whatever the solution, we help them manage road blocks until the job is done.
What to consider before applying

This role requires the candidate to be based out of our Riyadh office.

Your flexibility to travel. This means we may require you to work away from your base office location on a regular basis and frequent overnight stays may be required. Where possible, we will take your preferences into account and strike a balance between meeting your career development/personal needs and those of the business and our clients.
The Role
As a Business Restructuring Director, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping solve complex business issues from strategy to execution and operations. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

Lead business restructuring and turnaround projects for clients across various industries

Develop and implement effective strategies to address financial and operational challenges

Advise senior management and stakeholders on restructuring plans and turnaround initiatives

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, creditors, and investors

Proactively seek to identify opportunities to grow the business with new and existing clients
-
Act as a trusted advisor, delivering actionable insights and solutions tailored to client needs

Conduct in-depth financial assessments, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity analysis, and financial modeling

Identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement

Collaborate with legal, financial, and operational teams to execute restructuring plans

Support negotiations with creditors, investors, and other stakeholders during turnaround processes

Mentor and manage a team of restructuring professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.

Oversee project deliverables, ensuring quality and timeliness
The Requirements

10+ years of relevant experience in business restructuring, turnaround management, or financial advisory

Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and liquidity management

Proven experience working within the Middle East region, with a strong understanding of regional market dynamics is preferred

Demonstrable track record of winning work and developing business

Has led high-impact restructuring projects with clients from various sectors

Proven track record of leading complex restructuring engagements and driving successful outcomes

Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence key stakeholders

Possess a deep understanding of strategies, deal structuring, and the M&A process, bringing valuable insights and solutions to complex transactions and investment opportunities

Deep understanding of bankruptcy processes, insolvency laws, and creditor negotiations (knowledge of local regulations is a plus)

Excels in fostering collaborative relationships at all organizational levels, earning credibility with both senior management and external clients through effective communication and partnership

CPA, CFA, CTP, or equivalent is highly desirable

Exhibits strong time management and organizational abilities, adept at prioritizing tasks and meeting tight deadlines efficiently
