Overview

Description:

Aramco energizes the world economy.

Aramco occupies a unique position in the global energy industry. We are the world’s largest producer of hydrocarbons (oil and gas), with the lowest upstream carbon intensity of any major producer.

With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramco’s value to society.

Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a generations’ spanning view of the future, born of our nine decades experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom’s vast hydrocarbon resources. This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely on the vital and reliable energy that we supply.

We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.

Overview

We are seeking a Technology Deployment Expert to join our Technology Commercialization Division (TCD).

TCD’s mission is to maximize value realization from Aramco technologies through internal and external Intellectual Property (IP) commercialization, to address the company’s business and sustainability priorities.

Your primary role is to proactively drive pre and post-deployment commercial support for Aramco in-house developed technologies. This important role provides leadership in defining and implementing technology deployment strategies that deliver value, first through deployments in Aramco group business operations, and where applicable, by facilitating market adoption of in-house developed technologies and company-owned IP outside of Aramco. Working closely with key stakeholders, the Technology Deployment Expert will establish a deployment decision-making framework that considers relevant commercial risks and uncertainties. This framework will serve to guide recommendations and implementation of preferred technology deployment strategies that align with opportunity value drivers.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with Aramco Research & Development (R&D) organizations, as well as business and engineering stakeholders to drive the development and deployment of innovative technology solutions that offer long-term, global, competitive advantage for Aramco.
  • Foster collaborative technology engineering partnerships to accelerate the deployment of maturing R&D projects, and ensure effective pre and post-deployment support.
  • Develop a shared understanding of long-term business needs and prioritize deployment scenarios based on business investment plans, underlying technology challenges, and minimum performance criteria for successful technology implementation.
  • Support the development of technology business cases, and conduct techno-economic evaluation to assess the potential benefits and risks of technology deployment.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive technology deployment plans for projects, including strategies for IP commercialization.
  • Provide regular project update briefings to senior management, and identify and address technical or commercial issues to ensure effective risk management throughout the technology deployment process.
  • Prepare high-quality presentation materials for corporate stage-gate business review panel meetings, including: business cases, value hypotheses, competitive analyses, strategy options, and risk registers.
  • Ensure effective communication and decision-making by providing clear and concise information to senior leadership.
  • Track and measure technology value realization by understanding the value that has been delivered from deployed technologies, including analyzing annual cashflows, validating actual cashflows, and updating forecasts through engagement with relevant stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate the value captured from deployed technologies, ensuring ongoing alignment with business objectives and maximize return on investment (ROI).

Minimum Requirements

  • As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a Science or Engineering discipline. An advance degree (Master / PHD) is preferable.
  • You will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience combining any two of the following:  research and development, operations, business development, consulting and/or finance experience in upstream oil and gas operations, midstream, downstream, chemicals, natural gas distribution, energy services, alternative or renewable energy, engineering and technology innovation.
  • You will also have at least 5 years of experience in any of the following areas:  research and development, product development, technology marketing, and energy-related and/or software-related technology licensing.
  • You must possess a deep understanding of the “Strategy-to-Value” technology lifecycle, including: R&D and IP strategy, engineering, scale-up, project development, economic evaluation, supply chain development, risk evaluation and mitigation, as well as strategy and business development.
  • Proven experience in developing business cases for new strategies or products is essential.
  • You also be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, networking, influencing and facilitation skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and drive successful technology projects.
