Overview
We are seeking a Process Engineer with experience in Diesel Hydrotreating (DHT) and Sulfur Recovery Units (SRU) processes to join our Riyadh Refinery Operations Engineering Unit (RRED/OEU).
Riyadh Refinery (RR) is a domestic refinery located in the center of Saudi Arabia with a daily crude processing capacity of 130,000 BPD. Our mission is to pursue the most safe and efficient methods, and economically meet its share of the Kingdom market demands for refined products. Our main products are Diesel, Gasoline, Kerosene, LPG, Molten Sulfur and Asphalt.
Your primary role will be to provide day to day field technical advisory support, process engineering and operations expertise to monitor, troubleshoot, optimize and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) and improve programs for Riyadh Refineries’ DHT & SRU. You will drive the performance improvement programs which enhance process safety, optimize energy & manufacturing cost, increase plant reliability and maximize plant profitability.
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
• Review and monitor the performance of existing DHT & SRU facilities through KPIs representing the process plant’s optimum operability, profitability, reliability, and safety.
• Issue daily reports for deviation and corrective actions.
• Perform Monthly/Quarterly DHT & SRU performance reports highlighting the KPIs, analysis, catalyst and adsorbent performance and provide recommendations of improvement.
• Conduct catalyst performance analysis, yield estimates and life cycle estimations.
• Identify the plant constraints and conduct internal assessments and debottleneck studies on DHT & SRU process with support of process licensor and engineering services.
• Provide technical advisory on matters concerning the operation of DHT & SRU which may include but not limited to operation related problems, process troubleshooting, start-up and shutdown activities, capacity test runs, technology pilot testing, and process design.
• Lead HAZOP, MOC, Root Cause Analysis and incident investigations.
• Review and revise standard work procedures such as new operating procedures, instructions, relive valves and plant drawings.
• Support in implementing the recommendations and closing the gaps identified in the quarterly performance benchmarking, Solomon and technical assessment reports.
• Develop a business case and engineering package for any modifications and upgrades.
• Participate in business plan development and coordinate any capital investments and support techno-economic evaluations.
• Recommend and coordinate proven technology deployments in DHT & SRU process units.
Minimum Requirements
• You must have a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• You must have a minimum of 8 years, hands on experience, of DHT & SRU processes and operations.
• You should have exposure to different DHT, SRU, Tail Gas Treatment or Amine Regeneration process licensor technologies.
• Possess excellent computer and presentation skills.
• Experience in process simulation, process control & advanced process control is preferred.
• A certified PHA/HAZOP leader is also preferred.
