OU Description

PwC’s Accounting Advisory business unit provides clients with practical solutions to accounting and financial reporting challenges. The team of experts advises clients on a range of complex accounting issues, including implementing new accounting standards, accounting for business transactions, and providing support on regulatory compliance. The unit helps clients navigate through complex accounting requirements by providing in-depth technical knowledge and understanding of financial reporting standards. The team works closely with clients to help them make informed business decisions and optimize their financial performance. PwC’s Accounting Advisory professionals possess a combination of technical accounting skills, business acumen, and industry knowledge, making them trusted advisors to clients across a range of industries.

Line of Service Overview_x000D_

This presents an exciting opportunity to join our ESG reporting transformation team within the Consulting division. You will play a crucial role in managing and executing reporting transformation projects for clients across various sectors in the Middle East. Our team specializes in providing tailored solutions for strategy and reporting transformation, assisting clients in defining their sustainability reporting priorities.

Your focus will involve aligning clients’ ESG reporting frameworks and standards, clarifying the impact of ESG issues on business operations and strategy, identifying reporting formats and disclosures, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Additionally, you will identify key sectors and potential clients for ESG reporting transformation services, foster relationships with existing clients to understand evolving reporting requirements and explore opportunities for expanding our consulting services. Collaboration with subject matter experts and delivery teams will be essential in crafting customized proposals aligned with client objectives and industry best practices.

Ideal candidates will have prior experience in delivering ESG reporting transformation projects and strategy engagements internationally or within the region. They should demonstrate proficiency in reviewing compliance with regional and international ESG reporting frameworks and guidelines, including GRI, SASB, TCFD, CSRD, and emerging ISSB standards S1 and S2.

Requirements_x000D_

You will work as part of a growing team of problem solvers and will be required to possess strong project management skills as the delivery role requires client management, team management of less junior colleagues, project budgeting and finance management, coaching and resource management on a portfolio of clients. A key part of delivery will be to support clients through their ESG reporting strategy and roadmap and the creation, review and delivery of complex client deliverables which will include executive level reporting through to detailed design documentation.

  • Proven experience in delivering high quality ESG reporting transformation strategic engagements across multiple industries or co-developing reporting strategies to integrate ESG reporting considerations into wider ESG strategy
  • Experience in supporting clients through understanding the impact of the emerging regulatory and reporting agenda around ESG reporting transformation, with a focus on regional and global initiatives such as the ISSB standards, Regional Stock exchange guidelines, Government national standards on sustainability, mandatory reporting and disclosure requirements under the different standards and frameworks.
  • Strong working knowledge of current and emerging reporting frameworks and standards with particular focus on GRI but also including SASB, TCFD and CSRD as you help clients deliver their ESG reporting;
  • Experience in advising clients as they write and develop their ESG reports 
  • Expand disclosure requirements into qualitative and quantitative reporting in alignment with standards.
  • Track record of identifying market challenges and creating opportunities in ESG reporting transformation
  • You will be expected to actively support the Partner within the ESG reporting transformation team working on business development in identifying and converting new opportunities across the region for ESG reporting transformation work.
Additional Roles & Responsibilities_x000D_
  • Strong knowledge of current tools and trends for ESG reporting is a plus.
  • The role also requires collaborating with the capital markets team to help companies assess their state of ESG readiness as part of IPO readiness and more broadly to help clients implement ESG reporting.
  • You will be required to demonstrate extensive project management skills related to projects, including developing project plans, budgets and deliverables schedules.
  • The role also requires that the candidate is able to collaborate with colleagues across different competences within the firm regionally and globally within the ESG area and wider consulting/xLoS practices including a thorough understanding of ESG reporting transformation process and regulatory requirements and guidelines for ESG disclosures and reporting.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to travel as client assignments require.
Qualifications & Experience_x000D_

 

Qualifications:

  • GRI or SASB certification are mandatory.
  • Other sustainability reporting qualification that could support in ESG reporting work is desired.

 

Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience working in ESG reporting of an accounting firm such as the big four supplemented by experience on ESG strategy.
  • Currently working as a Senior Manager in an accounting firm’s or part of the ESG reporting team.
