Overview

We are seeking a Reliability & Asset Management Engineer to join our Ras Tanura Refinery (RTR) with the Reliability & Asset Performance Unit (R&APU).

R&APU is the refinery’s arm to ensure effective assets management through managing RTR reliability systems and programs, as well as analyzing the performance of RTR’s equipment to ensure reliable & efficient operations.

 

Your primary role is to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could affect our plants operations. You are also required to develop (and/or adopt) and drive the implementation of asset reliability programs and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

A successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

 

  • Facilitate and manage all reliability programs.
  • Develop assets life strategies.
  • Design asset maintenance strategies such as Preventative Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Run to Failure Maintenance (RTFM).
  • Provide technical support to the operation team during the entire lifecycle of the plant’s major equipment, analyzing their performances, operative conditions and boundaries, in order to guarantee reliable and safe operations.
  • Utilize knowledge and familiarity with the international standards in order to improve the equipment performance.
  • Implement the best-in-class solutions as foreseen by international standards and other internal company standards.
  • Lead efficiency improvement initiates and upgrading programs.
  • Generate and calculate the asset Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for major equipment.
  • Propose changes in operating modes, or technological improvement, or maintenance strategies implementation, in order to support the company vision of continuous improvement throughout collaboration and people conversation.
  • Utilize the best-in-class monitoring tools (GE SMART SIGNAL, SYSTEM ONE) and other maintenance & reliability tools (SAP, iMOM, GE MERIDIUM) to support decisions in case of failures, or abnormal operating conditions.
  • Identify, manage, & prioritize all plant reliability threats and drive their resolution.

Minimum Requirements

  • You must hold a Bachelor Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or process control/automation). A Master of Reliability Engineering & Asset Management is a plus.
  • You must have a minimum of 15 years experience in the Reliability & Asset Management field in Oil & gas or petrochemical facilities.
  • Certified Asset Management Assessor and Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional is a must.
  • Certified Reliability Engineer is a plus.
  • Machinery Lubrication Analyst Level I (MLA I), Vibration CAT II and Ultrasound Testing (UTI) is preferred.
  • You must be able to demonstrate a deep knowledge of all reliability programs such as RCM, RAM, FEMCA, Bad Actors, MTBF …etc.
  • A thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, and international codes, standards and specifications is also required.
  • Familiarity with the main investigation tools and techniques like FRACAS, RCA, and TAPROOT is preferred.
