ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Data Centre Design Manager and Construction to oversee the design and development of our data centers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and architects to develop and execute data center design plans that are efficient, scalable, and cost-effective.

REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and architects responsible for the design and development of data centers.
  • Develop and implement data center design plans that are efficient, scalable, and cost-effective.
  • Ensure that all designs meet or exceed industry standards and compliance regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, finance, and legal, to ensure that the data center design meets the needs of the business.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure timely completion of data center projects.
  • Oversee the selection and management of vendors and contractors for data center design and construction projects.
  • Monitor and analyze data center performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for upgrades or modifications.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies related to data center design and construction.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in data center design and construction.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team of engineers and architects.
  • Experience with project management and budgeting.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center design principles, industry standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Experience with various aspects of data center operations
  • Knowledge on data center technology and security
  • Willingness for “on call” availability in event of crisis
  • High-performing and ambitious individual with a hands-on mentality
  • Agile and flexible towards projects, stages, and outcomes
  • Be analytical and pre-emptive with potential problems and solutions
  • Excellent leadership abilities and experience in managing teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
  • Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively manage obstacles
  • Skilled in delivering clear outcome-based targets and measures by working with a strong sense of urgency in getting the job done
  • Arabic language skills are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, is considered preferrable
